Mask Off. Communicating with God, You and Others

There is a growing concern in today’s world as so many people have become caught up with not being their own person. Sadly, people have lost the value of being real, taking up an identity that does not reflect who they are on the inside. Misrepresentations are dangerous. It is dangerous for people to put up a front and not really be who they claim to be. Ever wondered why the world is filled with so many hurting, lonely and depressed people? Ever wondered why there are so many failed relationships and broken promises?  The answer may not be farfetched. People have chosen to present themselves as who they are not. They hide the real person behind a mask and reveal traits that are not consistent with whom they are on the inside. Studying human behavior is one of the most complex endeavors that a person can ever embark upon.

Have you ever taken time to consciously determine how many times someone you knew and maybe loved made a promise that they never really meant? One of the major hindrance to healthy relationships is the absence of trust, and how can you trust when people won’t be real? IT’S AMAZING HOW PEOPLE SPEND MORE TIME ENSURING THAT THEIR ISSUES REMAIN A SECRET THAN THEY DO WORKING ON THEMSELVES TO ENSURE THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE.

Each person in the world must communicate at 3 levels. We will have to communicate with God, with ourselves and with others. If a person will experience healthy relationships at all levels, we must be willing to take the mask off when we communicate with ourselves. We will have to find time to be alone with ourselves, connect with ourselves, find our strengths and build on them, be real enough to tell us the truth and as we do, we connect with God and tell Him all that we feel is wrong with us. He helps us deal with the issues and in His presence; the King in us is brought to the fore. There’s good in us, but if we don’t take the time to nurture the good in the presence of the King Himself, we will not be able to find who we truly are. When we have found ourselves and found God, our relationships with others will be nothing but healthy and rewarding.
Mask off today. Let’s all take the time to truly be on the inside what we show ourselves to be on the outside.
